How Cellphones Can Cause Brain Tumors

Robert Romeo, a former telecommunications worker in Italy, told the Italian court that he had used his cell phone for three to four hours a day for 15 years as part of his career. After that, he developed a brain tumor, which the court ruled was due to his continued use of the mobile phone. As a result, a state-funded pension received approximately $535 per month. In 2012, the Italian supreme court similarly upheld a ruling that the use of heavy mobile phones-five to six hours a day for 12 years-led to a brain tumor in Innocenzo Marcolini.

He said, according to the Tech Times, "the device usually held in his left hand while taking notes using his right hand." The tumor was on the left side of his head in the United States, where safety, or the lack of cell phones is still a heated discussion, has recovered this matter renewed interest after a statement from the office of Senator John McCain announced that he was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a kind of aggressive and fast-growing tumors of brain.

The question is whether McCain can have a tumor because of the use of cell phones, and the politicians will certainly spend a great deal of time on the phone. It's a rhetorical affair right now, and not one being seriously investigated--but perhaps it should be. Senator Ted Kennedy was also diagnosed and died of a brain tumor almost a decade ago. Could his brain tumor be connected to the cell phone, too?

Is the Use of Mobile Phone Linked to Brain Tumors?
While the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified radiofrequency (RF) radiation--the type used by cellular phones to send signals--as a "possible human carcinogen" the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has no scientific evidence to provide a specific answer "on whether the use of a mobile phone can cause cancer, they say.

However, some experts disagreed, and there was a growing body of evidence suggesting that urgent vigilance was needed. In 2016, for example, a study of a National Toxicological Programme for male rats on radiofrequncy radiation (RFR) was revealed by frequencies and adaptations used in the American communications industry. Rats exposed to cellular radiation for nine hours a day over a two-year period were at increased risk of developing malignant tumours in the brain and another type of tumor, schwannomas of the heart.

The authors of the study noted that given the widespread use of mobile phones, including among children, "the very small increase in the rates the incidence of diseases resulting from exposure to RFR the disease can have a wide public health ." They continued:
"Finally, the tumors in the brain and heart noticed in the low infection rate in male mice exposed to... The mobile phone RFR in this study is of similar type to tumors observed in some epidemiology studies of the use of cell phones. These findings appear to support the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) conclusions regarding possible carcinogenic potentia of RFR."

Meanwhile, the 2017 systematic review and meta-analysis examines the use of mobile phones and glioma risks, noting that the current evidence poor quality and limited-I also found that the use of long-term mobile phones (at least 10 years) maybe associated with an increased risk of glioma.

Hundreds of Scientists Call the World Health Organization to Increase Protection Against Mobile Phones
There was an open letter written in 2015, in which more than 200 world scientists invited the WHO and the United Nations to increase protection against pervasive exposure to electromagnetic fields, including the RFR from mobile phones. The Committee explained in part the following:

"Many recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels far below most of the international and national guidelines.

The effects include increased risk of cancer, cellular stress, increased harmful free radicals, genetic damage, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, and disability in learning, memory, and neurological disorders, the damage goes far beyond the human race, as there is increasing evidence of adverse effects on both flora and fauna.

These results justify our appeal to the United Nations, and to all member States of the world, to encourage the W.H.O to play a strong leadership role in encouraging the development of more protective guidelines for electromagnetic fields and the promotion of measures precautionary, educating the public about health risks, especially risks to children and inaction, By not taking action, the World Health Organization (WHO) is failing to play its role as the leading international public health agency."

Another study, published in 2015, examined data from two previous studies on the situation of Swedish patients diagnosed with malignant tumours of the brain during the periods 1997 to 2003 and 2007 to 2009. The patients were aged between 18 and 80 years of age at the time of diagnosis. Using regression analysis, the possibilities of developing glycolic have risen concurrently with increased use of mobile phones.

The most hours that I had with the mobile phone pressed on their ears, and the most years that I used to use the mobile phone, were the highest odds.

  • Those who used either a mobile phone or a wireless home for more than 25 years had three times the risk of glioma compared to those who had used cordless telephones for less than a year
In order to place this risk ratio in a given perspective, just over five people were diagnosed with 100 000 malignant brain cancer between 1995 and 2002. If this rate triples, the probability of developing a malignant brain tumor rises to about 16 out of 100,000, which is alarming considering the prevalence of mobile phones and other wireless technologies. According to the Pew Research Centre, 91% of American adults have a mobile phone.

Moreover, the average age of a child who receives the first smartphone is just over 10 years, and half of the children under the age of 10 already have a mobile phone. Children are more vulnerable to the effects EMFs, often using their telephones more frequently and for longer periods of time than adults each day, from the time they are very young. Because brain tumors may take 10 or 15 years to develop, the full extent of the damage of the mobile radiation may not be fully realized for some time, and that is why precautions are now taken very important.

The Main Risks of Mobile Phones are Associated with Mitochondale Damage
The basic diseases behind the mobile phone damage are not specifically related to brain tumors, or even cancer. Instead, the real risk lies in the damage caused by reactive nitrogen species peroxynitrites. Increasing peroxynitrites of the mobile phone exposure will harm the mitochondria, and your brain is the most mitochondrial-dense organ in your body.

Peroxynitrites is an unstable structural ion produced in your body after nitric oxide is exposed to super oxide. This complex chemical process begins with low-frequency microwave exposure from your cellular phone, Wi-Fi internet and mobile phone towers. The process begins when low-frequency microwave radiation activates calcium channels containing voltage, and produces calcium within your cells and mitochondrial. Nitric oxide depends on the presence of calcium to activate.

With additional calcium present, then nitric oxide is activated in the cells. Nitric oxide is an existing substance in all vertebrates and helps to control blood flow, nerve activity and clotting. While it has many health benefits, it can become destructive when the peroxide molecules, the oxygen molecule, are released during the pathological change, such as stroke or muscle injury. This results from the interaction between nitric oxide and peroxide, which is believed to be one of the root causes of many chronic diseases today.

Nitric oxide is the only molecule in your body produced at high enough concentrations to outcompete for other molecules of superoxide, which is the precursor of peroxyneite. These changes of nitrate are evident in the biopsies human of atherosclerosis, myocardial muscle, inflammatory bowel diseases, amyotropic lateral sclerosis and degenerative lung disease. Large oxidizing stress from the perfluorinated capillaries may also lead to single-cord DNA separators.

This pathway of oxidizing destruction caused by low-frequency radiation from mobile devices may partially explain the unprecedented growth rate of chronic diseases since 1990. This, really, is a much greater concern than brain tumors when it comes to the dangers of cell phones.
